Description:
This time trial includes some of the most spectacular scenery the racers will ever have an opportunity to see, on or off a bike. The roadway was built flat power sections, this course will be a true test of power and endurance. Riders will start the course with a flat five miles to get their legs good and warm before meeting the first major obstacle, the category 3 climb up the Rowena Loops. This two mile climb winds its way to the top of the Columbia River Plateau. Once on top, the course gradually descends into the town of Mosier and then back up another category 4 climb to the Historic Mosier Tunnels. Once through the tunnels, the riders will snake through five miles of the Columbia River Highway State Park’s flat to rolling terrain and finish at the Park’s West entrance. At 18 miles and with nearly 2000 feet of elevation gain, this is an epic time trial that compliments and highlights the qualities of this epic stage race. Come prepared, because the westerly Gorge winds can make this TT even more challenging than it looks on paper!
