2010 indie Hops Mt. Hood Cycling Classic Needs Volunteers!

The Indie Hops Mt. Hood Cycling Classic has quickly risen to one of the top Pro/Am cycling events in the country because of its tremendous courses, wonderful communities and most of all its amazing volunteers!  Renowned as one of the friendliest and best supported races in the country, it is a testament to the wonderful job the volunteers who make up the back bone of this event do.

If you are interested in volunteering we would love to have your support!  We have a number of different positions open so that you can choose what best utilizes your talents and interests.  Volunteers have an opportunity to be up close and personal to these amazing athletes who come from around the world to compete in our little community.  All volunteers will receive special commemorative poster and T-Shirt, and swag bag.  Listed below are a number of the different positions we are looking to fill.  If one is right for you contact us and sign up today!

Mt. Hood Cycling Classic Volunteer Positions

Drivers – We need drivers to drive lead for the amateur races and to drive officials in the pro men’s and women’s races.  A general knowledge of racing is necessary for this position as well as the use of a small car.

Flaggers – Flaggers are located out on course to direct cyclist to stay on course and make the necessary turns.

Support Feeders – This position is for individuals who are interested in supporting the riders out on course by handing them water bottles at designated aid stations.

Construction Crew – Members of this team work to construct the finish line system which includes, banners, tents, signage, and finish line structure.

Course Crew – Assist in setting out signs, sweeping corners and preparing the roads for racing.

Crowd Control – Help provide safety and control during the criterium monitoring access gates and finish line area.
